Whether you like snow or not, you have to admit that it adds beauty to our surroundings, especially when everything has been gray and drab after the beautiful colors of autumn disappeared from the Keweenaw. Brita Haapala the lady behind Brita Caroline Photography took these stunning shots of the fresh snow and sunshine. She said it was only about an inch of snow, just enough to catch the rays of the sun and make the scenes burst into brightness. The starlike sun in the first shot makes that one my favorite of the three, but each one of them would make a great canvas print or Christmas Card.
Steven Baumann recorded a drive on US-141, just north of Covington. The frost was glistening on the trees this November morning.

Gorgeous pix, Brita! It's amazing how sky, sun and a snow-clad pond can become such a tapestry and a feast for the eyes.
