Judy Byykkonen knows how to enjoy summer, as she rents the “Green Camp” out in Bootjack for a week every August. Her family joins her there and they enjoy everything from swimming, to kayaking, to riding the Jet Ski, to bon fires, to just relaxing and enjoying the warmth of the sun.
Then when the day is done, you get beauty in the sky, like the sunset at the top of the page. That was an unusual one for sure, like the sky was split in half and only one side had color. The webpage, livescience.com explains this phenomenon, here’s a short version: “When a large cloud lies between the sun and clouds that are closer to the ground, the big cloud casts a shadow. This blocks direct sunlight and keeps it from striking the other clouds, creating what looks like a vertical barrier dividing two different skies.” If you’d like to read the long version, click on this link: LiveScience.com

Have never seen a sunset like that first one! Thanks for the explanation Mary! And Steve's video could be put in a 2 hour loop!
The camp pictures bring back warm memories of days gone by - thanks Judy!
