Marsha Galbraith and company made a visit to the U.P. recently and made a number of stops while in the Keweenaw. A couple of the more well known places are the first two photos... The Snow Thermometer on US 41, just north of Mohawk is always a must stop for taking photos to remember your vacation.
Photo #2 is another “have to snap a picture” place, this one right alongside M-26, 4 miles east of Eagle River, Jacob’s Falls. You’ll find this one of the easiest falls in the area to access, since it’s right on the side of the road. Even though it’s not a huge falls, it is still quite scenic.
Marsha’s daughter is walking along the rocks on the Copper Harbor shoreline in the third photo. There’s quite a contrast from the large rocks she’s standing on, to the smaller pebble size rocks just to the right in the photo. Maybe there’s an agate or two to be found among those smaller stones.
And lastly, the Harbor Haus Dock with flags from different nations. It’s a great spot to feel the calm of the Copper Harbor area, with the water surrounding you out at the end of the dock and if there’s some wind, the flapping of the flags to keep you company.
The Jacob’s Falls video was also shot by Marsha. How interesting that tree with all it’s roots leaning over at the bottom of the falls. I wonder if it came from further up the falls and traveled down the higher drops along the gorge.

In the Travers Stakes race at the Saratoga track was a horse named "Uncle Chuck." I think he is still running.....
