It’s not just about the long weekend or the first camping weekend of the summer or picnics with the family. Yes, that’s all a part of the Memorial Day Weekend, but today, the observed Memorial Day, let’s all take a few moments and remember the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice throughout all the wars our country has seen. They gave their lives, so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have.

Krista Poirier snapped today’s photo at the Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet. One of the more picturesque Veteran’s plots in the area. Impressive with all the flags in place for today.

Nancy Haun shares a video she recorded at the Skanee Cemetery Memorial Day Service in 2018.

All gave some, some gave all. Thank you for your sacrifice... both the fallen Veteran and their family.

What a beautiful tribute to our men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

The rows and rows of headstones over the men who fought to preserve the Union and for whom Decoration Day originally started, is breathtaking and moving. And the ceremony, in small town America, which honors all members of our armed forces who have passed away, is perfect in it's sincerity and simplicity.

Thank you to these fallen veterans and the Gold Star families they belonged to; may we all live up to your sacrifice for us. God bless America!

Memorial Day.
Ernie Pyle was a war corespondent in WWII.
"In the desert it's likely to occur to you that our daily lives in the cities are full of seeing, hearing and worrying over a great many things that are of no •••• consequence whatsoever".
We owe all our veterans more than we can even imagine!

Very nice tribute. I went to put decorations
on my dad and brother's graves and it's right
next to the veterans. It always gives me
chills to think of the sacrifices made for our
freedoms. Thank you to all of the veterans and
their families.
