We’re on the rural mail route again today, with Beth Jukuri. Delivering mail along the same 75 miles each day, can get monotonous, but Beth said it’s really nice to have the wildlife on the route and beautiful scenes throughout the seasons and weather changes, along with the off chance she will spot something interesting.
This past week the interesting things Beth spotted were of the feathered friends category. The first two photos are “springtime” harbingers, the return of the Canada Geese and the Sandhill Cranes, both of which have a distinct call when they’re flying over or taking a break in the fields. The last set of feathered friends Beth spotted were of a more local nature... someone’s flock of chickens and colorful ones at that. Looks like some Rhode Island Reds, but I’m not sure what the darker colored ones are. Anyone?
We’re going up over Mont Ripley, for a drone look at the ski hill, across at Houghton, up toward Hancock and Ripley, too. It’s a little longer video, just about 9.5 minutes, but since we’re “sheltering at home”, it will be a good way to spend some time checking out the Copper Country. Special thanks to Upper Peninsula of Michigan – Fun In The UP for taking us along!
