Wherever Nancy Haun goes, her camera follows. Well, not exactly follows, but she takes it along on all her excursions. Sometimes, like today’s shots, she captures the goings on in the small towns here UP North, giving those that are away from “home”, a look at what’s going on back there. Last week she snapped these photos driving through Lake Linden and one coming down Sheldon Ave. in Houghton. Lake Linden is my hometown and where I still live, so it’s fun to feature it today. That’s the main drag, better known as M-26/Calumet Street. Nancy’s photo of Houghton shows the classic view when you come into town, with the City Centre on the right and the Douglass House on the left.

Nancy shares a video today, too, from nearer her stomping grounds. That’s the Falls River in L’Anse, flowing with fast-running water surrounded by some snow and ice. The CN Railroad bridge in the background adds charm to the entire scene.

(OOOpsie, I dood it again!, I must be getting rusty!
It's so exasperating trying to guess the max image size.
One last time, only one image this time.)

Video "Falls River in L'Anse"
(MVI 4057Falls River in L'Anse 1/10/2020):

Which railroad bridge is that?
(There are two, one is just about 400-500 ft. west of the Burger King, on the north side of US-41, and the other is on the south side of US-41.)

At first glance, sure had me fooled, it looked a lot like Agate Falls!
Agate Falls
Agate Falls

(And I wonder what the "MVI 4057" means?)

FRNash...if you stick to the size that the original photos on the page are, you won't have any upload oopsies.
Original sizes are usually - 660 X 440 pixels, they can also be 660 X 495 or 495 X 660. The first number is your width, the second number is your height. Now you can "dood" it right every time!
