Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Pasty Central. So many things to be thankful for and one of them is the beautiful sunrises we get to enjoy here in the Copper Country. Chris Dessellier snapped this one from his deer blind this hunting season. What a glorious way to start the day! And a perfect way to start out your Thanksgiving Day, too. This is Chris’ debut on the Pasty Cam, although his wife Jean has been a regular sharing photos, maybe it will become a “family affair” to share their captures.
The second photo comes to us from Brenda Leigh over in Brimley. She found this turkey a few years back and it helps to make her home festive for the Thanksgiving holiday. This photo was taken after one of the recent snowfalls the U.P. has experienced, so Mr. Turkey is adorned in fluffy white, which for a turkey is much better than being stuffed.
Our video today is from a few years back, during a Community Thanksgiving Dinner at the Escanaba High School. Holiday meals like this take place all over the U.P., serving those that might otherwise be sitting at home and eating alone. What a great service this is for those that attend and a wonderful opportunity to serve, for those that help make it happen. I love the kids that are there helping...it’s great to start them serving their community at a young age.
