Mountain Ash Berries make a good meal for our feathered friends, during the winter months. Brita Haapala, of Brita Caroline Photography, spotted this Mountain Ash tree in her neighborhood with the berries capped off with snowy tops. If you look closely at her second shot, you can even see some detail in the snowflakes sitting atop the berries. I don't think that I've ever gotten that close a look at those bright red berries before and I can't get over how much they resemble tomatoes.

The Mountain Ash tree in today's video grows in a barrel and is about 7 feet tall. The owner said she's been "braiding" the trunk since it was little. Interesting

I love these pictures, and the up close shots
of the berries in the video was very enjoyable.

Edward Abbey once mused in the desert--

"Do not be opposed to mankind, but only to man-centeredness, anthropocentricity, the opinion that the world exists solely for man; not to science, which simply means knowledge, but to science misapplied, to the worship of technique and technology, and to that perversion of science properly called scientism; and bot to civilization, but culture."
