When Nancy Haun spotted these deer in a Skanee area yard recently, she knew something picture worthy was going to happen. You can just see the challenging look in the position of those two bucks, staring each other, eye to eye. Then as the battle begins, she snaps another shot, with the horns connecting. I’m guessing that hurts to be sparing with horns like that. But it seems that bucks always have to establish their territory and who’s in charge, whether in someone’s yard or out in the wild of the woods. I wonder who came out as the top buck in this situation?
Our video today has three small Michigan bucks in it, with two of them battling for that “dominant” buck position. Watch these young bucks locking horns against each other, until one finally gives up and runs with the other in quick pursuit.

Such glorious creatures. I just love watching them. When they go walking through our yard, I don't leave the window until there is no sign of them. Ya wonder how they don't poke an eye out when they're battling like that.

Thanks everyone. It was such a beautiful day. Outside ceremony with threat of rain all day, but none showed up. Still overcast and windy bit not overly cool.
She's such a wonderful woman. Most of you know his Mom passed away 6 years ago. I was not just his Dad yesterday but also he chose me as his Best Man. In giving the Best Man toast/speech I could not take off my "Dad" hat and I also had to speak for his Mom. It was totally unexpected but I was told that everyone at the reception was tearing up.
The official photographer released this photo last night.
Beautiful picture. I agree with Jbuck. Good for you!

Don't get too far ahead of things there, except I do I hope I'm still around long enough to show my first grandson or granddaughter the beauty of the U.P.

I think it's funny how the doe's just go about their business and pay no attention to the "boys".
