Two of the most recognizable landmarks here in the Copper Country were recently photographed by Barbara Bouwkamp. She captured the Quincy Mine Shaft lit up and shining in the night. In case you didn’t know, you can donate $25 minimum to light it up for six hours in memory or in honor of someone. More information can be found here: Quincy Mine Shafthouse Lighting.
South of the Shafthouse, Barb also snapped a glowing sunset, with the Portage Lake Lift Bridge as a silhouette. Instantly recognizable to so many and the landmark that welcomes folks back home when they see it.

Seven Days in the Keweenaw, is a video that touches on a little bit of everything that folks keep coming back to the Keweenaw to enjoy and take part in.

Certainly the two most iconic landmarks in the Copper Country, the Quincy Mine Shaft House and the Lift Bridge, and beautifully captured.

"… Seven Days in the Keweenaw, is a video that touches on a little bit of everything that folks keep coming back to the Keweenaw to enjoy and take part in."

Yes, "Seven Days in the Keweenaw" does a great job of capturing so much in a short 4 minutes and 13 seconds!

I was tempted to watch it again, but certainly with my speakers turned OFF; the Driftless Sisters' raucous caterwauling added nothing but auditory pain. I had to endure it the first time in case some useful, interesting narrative might have been included, but no.

•••• the stars are aligning, I agree with FRNash, beautiful pix and video and great capture and his nice compliments. I too however had too turn off the background music, just didn't fit, perhaps an authentic U.P. folk singer would have been better, lol. Nice review FR!! Looking forward to a Keweenaw color tour soon!!

The video was very nice. The music was, um,
well let's just say we're all in agreement lol.
Those kids swimming in the cave looked cold but
as kids, you just don't care. Loved the
pictures of the mine and bridge.
