Dr. Nathalie Brandes (a.k.a. Dr. Nat) was recently the quest speaker for the Quincy Mine, History on the Hill series, where she spoke about the history of mining from the earliest mines in the Paleolithic (Old Stone Age), into the Copper Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. She discussed important technological advances and techniques that became the foundations of the modern mining industry. Paul Brandes (Capt. Paul) was on hand to snap a couple photos to share with us here on the Pasty Cam.
Unfortunately, there is no video from Dr. Nat’s presentation, but I did find one from “Mine Rat Productions”, that talks about mining history here in the Copper Country. An interesting overview.

Thanks Mary for posting these. We just arrived this evening back in Houston and was welcomed by 100+ degree heat!!
My apologies for not getting video of the presentation. Unfortunately, I couldn't do both so photos won out.
