Today we celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. After seeing the first photo from Michael Leon, I knew it would be the perfect photo for this day. It looks like the rainbow ends right behind the flagpole, a good reminder that this country is our pot of gold, with the freedoms we are freely given by being citizens of the United States.
We have another rainbow in the second photo, snapped by Nancy Haun on her way between L’Anse and Skanee after a recent rain. Check out the sun shining so brilliantly on the mountains in the distance. Beautiful!
To round out our flag and rainbows, we have a video from Star Line Mackinac Ferry of the giant American Flag hung from the South tower of the Mackinac Bridge on the 4th of July.
Hoping you all have a happy and safe Independence Day!

Nancy takes some of the most stunning pictures out there~(she's also the prez of the Bishop Baraga Shrine down here in Baraga...STOP and check out the beautiful additions/upgrades she's gotten accomplished!!)
Also, this is the first year that the flag will be lowered/raised by machine!
