Last week, Thursday, the U.P. had a late winter/early spring snow event, much to the displeasure of most of us Yoopers. It didn’t last long, turning to rain, but it was enough to cover the ground and then freeze in places. Larry Rule captured today’s two photos near the DQ in Houghton that morning after noticing the unusual ice there. Made me think of a the old song, Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini. Guess you can tell my mind is over winter and snow and has moved on to summer and sun.
So, along that same line, today’s video moves us along further into better weather with a look at a different kind of Spring located here in the U.P., at Palms Book State Park near Manistique. We’re taking a virtual tour of one of Michigan’s largest natural springs, Kitch-iti-kipi. Strap on your goggles, we’re going underwater, too.
