With the arrival of spring here UP North, it seems like we’ve been getting more photo-worthy sunrises, too. Our first one here today, is from the Chassell area, snapped by Taana Blom. It’s a beauty for sure, bringing to mind the old sailor’s saying: Red sky in morning, sailor’s take warning. Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. As a matter of fact, I think this was taken last Thursday morning before our snow event that closed the schools again last Friday. Guess that red sky was our warning.
The second photo was taken at McCarty’s Cove in Marquette, by Sharon Bodenus of Upper Peninsula Photography. She stopped to capture this scene, as she said it looked like a doorway made by nature for us to walk through to view our beautiful Lake Superior. She’s right, it does look like an invitation to walk through!
Sharon also shares a video she made early Sunday morning as the sun was beginning to rise. Make sure you turn up your volume so you can hear those beautiful sunrise sounds.
