Jeff Dennis and family were on a Keweenaw adventure this past weekend, stopping at a number of places, including the Eagle River Park to watch the deer. They were given quite a show when the deer in the top photo decided that all the feed belonged to him/her. Looks like somebody didn’t learn the lesson on sharing very well. Yet in the next photo, the deer are peacefully eating right alongside the turkeys that decided to come and dine, also. Looks like maybe there was only one bully in this deer herd.
Speaking of turkeys dining, we’ve had a flock of 13 visiting our yard and feeders all winter. My hubby usually goes out and feeds them whole corn when they come into the yard, but with all the snow we have on the ground now, the turkeys have become “self-feeding”, since they can reach the bird feeders hanging in the trees, right where they’re standing. I made this video through the window, because if I’d have opened it, they’d have run off. Check out how they finagled a way to get the sunflower seeds out of the milk jug feeders.
