Stacey Flood, her hubby, Jim, and friends spent a day in the Eagle Harbor area, enjoying some skiing around Lake Superior recently. They captured so much beauty and in several of the photos they look so small compared to the expanse of Lake Superior in that little harbor there. Even on the cloudy days, you’re still surrounded by scenery that takes your breath away, you just have to get out there if you can and then stop and take it all in. It looks to me like Stacey and company do just that!
Speaking of taking it all in, “Yooper” Steve Jurmu does that, too. Visit Keweenaw features Yooper Steve in their latest “Crossing Place” video, “Winter is more fun in the U.P.” The lead-in says: “The Keweenaw is mighty proud of its triple digit snowfall total, but there's an art and a dedication to keeping tabs of all this fluffy white stuff. Local adventure guide and regional season expert "Yooper" Steve Jurmu's diligent snowfall tracking isn't just fun for his followers - it's important data collection for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and local winter recreation! Proving his claim to the "Yooper" moniker, Steve weaves his documentation of local weather with Keweenaw hospitality, welcoming folks to join him and share adventure into the frosty outdoors!”

Super set, Stacey! I recognized Jim immediately in the first pic. He always looked like a Marquette harbor dock pylon. The “Dawn in Action” pic…I was waiting for a sunrise. And the video is snow so nice! Yooper Steve definitely has Suesee.

Awesome. If Stacey had a camera from back in the day, she wouldn't even have to buy black and white film. Remember those days? Cool stuff, Stacey!

Hi Very enjoyable. I'd agree that the kind of winter I see in today's picture is way more enjoyable than the dead grass/mud/ice/dusting of snow/ "oh phooey that powder's turned to wet mush already" kind of winters we have downstate.
