My hubby and I went to Calumet on Friday to run a few errands and we spotted some action on the roof of the Calumet Colosseum, so we turned around for a closer look. There were at least eight guys UP there, with snow scoops and several of them on a lift, working on the very edges of the arched Colosseum roof. The guys in the middle all seemed to have a tether on, so if they did start sliding, that would prevent a fall to the ground. You can see the massive amount of snow built UP on the roof and how it gets removed one scoop at a time. We weren’t sure who the roof shovelers were, but there were several trucks and a work van in the parking lot, so we assumed it was a company hired to remove that heavy load.
I was able to record a short video of the snow removal action, too. Gives you a better idea of the size of the job and the deep snow accumulated. That sure is an enormous roof to clear off!

Wow! We had enough snow on our roof to keep us busy for days when it all came siding down. I can't even imagine having to shovel that one off. Looks like they had a good system going though. Oh the joys of winter, lol.

I hope everyone watched "The Americas" last night. Narrated by Tom Hanks. It's fabulous and on for a couple of weeks. Charter channel 6/NBC at 7 to 9 on Sundays. It is just spectacular.

Hi That is one colossal building, when I look at the size of the workers and the machine. Glad they have a crew to take care of the snow.

I guess I'll always call that building the Calumet Armory, as I remember it.
