After a big snow, it’s always fun to go to the shores of Lake Superior out at Big Traverse and walk (or snowshoe) in the fresh, untouched snow. That’s just what Barbara Bouwkamp did recently, along with their four-legged friend, Willow. Look at that pure, white, snowy beach and then Willow makes her mark in the fresh snow, with the sun creating a cool shadow of her, too. Barbara also snapped a long distance view of Mount Bohemia and even that far away, you can see some of the ski runs on the hill. Then her last two photos feature a couple of the cottages along the beach, looking a little forlorn and lonely, patiently waiting for summer and the owners return.

We’re going skiing in more fresh snow, with In The Keweenaw. Not at Bohemia, but at Mont Ripley, where he’s skiing “freshies” in 5” of fresh snow that had fallen overnight.

Sweet video and I found myself wondering
which trail that I would take if I were on
those skies.
I can only live vicariously through these
videos, but I’ll take it.

I'm with you Alex, although, never tried to
ski....I've always had issues staying on my own two
feet.

The pics are just gorgeous...and I'd imagine the
cabins belong to snow birds...I just hope they got
someone checking on them, and clearing the roofs.

Around 40 years ago I tried downhill skiing. I had
been a cross-country skier for years, but some
friends who liked downhill skiing talked me into
trying it, on one of those "Learn to Ski for Free"
days that the state used to have. In the end I
decided to stick to cross-country skiing. But I hope
those who enjoy it do get out & have some fun.
