Winter has arrived here in the Keweenaw... with a vengeance. Once it started is didn’t want to quit, meaning plowing, shoveling, snowblowing and just moving the snow, several times a day to keep your driveway and the roads clear. But even though last year was pretty mild as far as snowfall, we’re still used to the snow and we just have to get back into the swing of it again. I snapped these photos on my walk and I have to say, the snowcovered trees made for some beautiful scenery. The winds have been blowing making the windchill colder than the actual temperature, but walking on our quiet, tree-lined country road blocks the winds somewhat, so I can enjoy the beauty of the snow blanketing all the trees.

In The Keweenaw says, “Hello Snow!”. Their video was actually the day the snow started, with just a few inches falling. I’m not sure what the totals are right now and it depends where you are, as the totals vary from inches to feet. Winter is definitely here!

Visit Keweenaw is having a contest to “Guess the Keweenaw Snowfall Season Total”. If you’re interested in participating, you can find all the information on the following link, along with the form to put in your guess. The deadline is December 13th at 5 PM EST. Click here for more info and the form: Guess the Snowfall

Sweet pix! However, I like the color pix
much better. So please stop using
black and white.
And the “In the Woods” pic; Is that an
outhouse so that a bear can go in the woods?

Alex...the real question is, Does a Bear "go" in the woods?

Beautiful shots! What a difference
a couple of days make. But whoever
is shaking that snow globe can
stop any time.

Beautiful! Thanks Mary! Hoping for a GREAT SEASON for everyone who depends on snow. Won't be long until the trails are open and the cars will be driving on the top level of the lift bridge!

We got snow! And I hope it stays and keeps on
coming...our peeps that depend on snow for their
incomes, living, etc....NEED this....Bring it on!
