When you take a walk on the Houghton Waterfront, the views across the Portage Canal, looking at Ripley and the hills surrounding are always a treat, but nothing beats it when the fall foliage is in full bloom. Kathy Erkkila Ptaszek captured it while Autumn was bursting from the trees in vivid color. We even get another look at the Quincy Mine Shaft standing proudly above the hillside blazing in glory. I don’t know about you, but I never tire of fall in the Keweenaw.

We’re going on a walk to take in the Canyon Falls beauty with Yooper Al. This roadside park south of L’Anse is a popular destination no matter the season, but there’s something absolutely magical about hiking there in the Fall.

Absolutely fabulous! There's
nothing like fall colors. And when
taken on the Houghton waterfront,
it never disappoints.

Nice display of Fall colors!
I would say; “I wish they would stay that
way all year.” But we would probably
grow tired of them. They’re more enjoyable
when we wait for them in anticipation.

How GORGEOUS...I miss my old cameras that would do
the 'vivid' coloring, etc...or pick only one
color...but hey...I still have one. (thanks Mary!)

In high school volleyball last night…

Lake Linden-Hubbell claimed the Torch Lake Trophy
with a 3-1 (25-6, 21-25, 25-13, 25-18) victory
over Dollar Bay-Tamarack City. Cleo Milkey had 10
kills and 5 aces for the Lakes, Emily Burnham had
7 kills and 6 blocks, and Payton Goldsworthy had
25 assists. For the Blue Bolts, Kiera Isaacson had
2 aces, 9 services points, 12 kills and 16 digs;
Kaylynn Smith 16 digs; Evelyn Moilanen 4 kills and
9 digs; Kelsey Jaehnig 5 kills; and Macy Jurgensen
24 assists.

Bohemia, tho I would never ski it... I'm not a snow
skier, more like a large ball of snow gaining in
size as I careen to the bottom!! lol I have hiked
it up and down from many directions and way back
when drove to the top as well. Miss the fire tower,
it provided an incredible view!!
