We left off yesterday with Marcy Bessolo Hermanson at Bete Grise and we catch up to her today at Seneca Lake on the Cliff Drive, near Ahmeek. This lady sure doesn’t let the grass grow under her feet, she’s always on to the next adventure, usually somewhere in the Keweenaw. Marcy says that, “Beauty is never too far from your front door” and today’s assortment of photos proves her point, as Seneca Lake trail that she hiked around this day is not more than a couple miles from her front door. Marcy was surprised to see the two swans there taking a swim that day, as they seemed to be enjoying this fall day, too. I’ve driven by this lake countless number of times, but wasn’t really aware you could hike completely around the entire lake. Marcy snapped a shot from the trail head where there is a map of the 1.4 mile trail around the lake and a sign saying that this trail is funded by a grant from the Portage Health Foundation. Thank you PHF for making it easier to explore in the Keweenaw. Continuing around the lake, Marcy saw some beautiful fall colors overhead and a splash of red leaves here and there in the trees. Looking at these colors reminds me that I love the fall most of all!
We join Visit Keweenaw for a hike on a different Keweenaw trail, the Cliff View Trail at Mount Bohemia, an easy to moderate 1.5 to 2 hour hike that winds through forest and takes you to a scenic vista with some of the best views of the Keweenaw.

Absolutely beautiful! I took the trail once, but didn't realize it went all the way around the lake. Wish I'd have known that. My favorite is Fall Color Overhead.

Donna, there is. We went on a trail ride and I think it's about half and half. There's some beauty out there.

Hi I'm planning on going to the tip of the mitt next weekend. Here's hoping we have good colors.

Beautiful area! So nice the colors are appearing now and slowly, so there is more time to enjoy this beautiful time of year. Have never been to this area - and wish i had! Thanks Marcy!
