When Mandy Cadwell messages her friends and says, “Let’s go for a ride!”, it’s not always on the highway cruising, it’s often her “horseback riding family” and they saddle UP and head out on the trails. Summertime is the best time for rides like this in Mandy’s photos. It’s a slower pace where you can enjoy the surroundings and relax, not having to worry about traffic and highway noise, just the chatter of the riders and the occasional whinny or snort of the horses. When I was still in school, we used to ride our bikes out to Gregoire’s on the Traprock Valley Road and ride horses out there. They had trails on their property that they’d take you on. These pictures brought back those memories for me today.
Visit Keweenaw shares a different kind of ride, it’s about singletrack mountain bike riding and an event back on Memorial Day that kicked off the season here in the Keweenaw. Nathan Miller, the Copper Harbor Trails Club Executive Director, finds the heart of Ride the Keweenaw in club volunteers and deep connection to the Keweenaw outdoors. The video gives you a run down on races, group rides, and more that took place throughout that weekend's events.

Hi The pictures bring back memories of when I was a kid. I took riding lessons and went on trail rides. I think I'm too chicken to do mountain bike riding, though.

Ride On! I feel so fortunate I am able to still ride my horses. Been doing it for over 60+ years, don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Horses are such beautiful animals. I especially love that last picture with the lush green and blue skies and the beautiful horses.

Horses are REAL ATVs. They require no gas and can even produce their own.

Janie T, I’d bet that there’s nothing you can’t do on a horse! Barrel racing etc… I instantly thought of you when these pics came up!
