The Copper Country recently got some fluffy new residents, thanks to Stacey Flood and her newest batch of baby chicks. I love all the different colors and I’m sure they’ll grow into beautiful chickens and handsome roosters which will be cock-a-doodle-doing all around. There are not too many critters that are as cute as a fluffy, little chick, at least in my opinion.

Visit Keweenaw shares a video short to remind us that the 76th Copper Country Strawberry Festival will be taking place this coming Friday, July 12th and Saturday, July 13th in Chassell. For more information about the doings, check out the following link: Copper Country Strawberry Festival

If you’re looking for something to do this evening and you’re in the area, the Keweenaw County Historical Society is hosting Grand Valley State University Professor, Kate Remlinger to talk about the Yooper dialect. The presentation will take place at the Eagle Harbor Center at 8762 M-26 highway, beginning at 7 p.m. Keweenaw County Historical Society members will pay $5 for admission. Regular guest seats will pay $6. You can find more details here: Yooper Dialect

I just adore chicks. They are so
cute. Such cute pictures of them.
Every time I go to tractor supply,
I have to check out the baby
chicks.

Hi
With regard to strawberries, I read in today's paper
that a lot of fruit ripened early this year.

I've often lamented that there is no such thing as
teleportation. If there was, I'd jump up there to
hear about the Yooper dialect.

Mmmm… wings and strawberry shortcake.
Someone please pass the barbecue sauce.

That looked like some strong wind while dancing at the 0:19 mark.

I discovered a great way to eat fresh strawberries is with pineapple. The sweetness from the pineapple seems to perfectly match the slight tartness of a strawberry with no sugar added.

Chickens are now more & more being allowed in large cities here in NW IL. My son's next door neighbor has quite a brood. Last week, one flew over the 7 foot fence, only to be met by my son's Husky. RIP Foghorn-Leghorn. They still give him their excess eggs though.

We had our Strawberry Shortcake at the Manor...it

HIT THE FESTIVAL if you can!

Deb, i do the same thing in every farm store. That and the free popcorn.

I'll take the strawberries and cream and skip the shortcake!

Those who say it can’t be done are usually
interrupted by others doing it.
