You never know what you’ll find on the shoreline of Lake Superior. Stacey Flood found today’s scenes in the Eagle Harbor area. Her first shot is so picturesque with the Big Lake in the background, but that old weathered tree is what caught my attention, with the greenery growing around it, the knot holes hollowed out and the round, gaping hole where a branch was once attached. Look closely at the bottom photo, through that branch hole and you’ll see the slit of an opening on the underside of the tree where you can look right through to the ground below. Makes me wonder how long ago that tree fell and how much time has elapsed to have it weathered away to the point it is now. Thoughts that make you go...hmm…
Steve Brimm has a slow and easy video that he calls Sermon on Lake Superior. I thought it might be a good one to watch and ponder the amazing transformations that Mother Nature slowly produces throughout the years. You can barely tell the video is moving at first, except for the ripples on the water and then the clouds drifting lazily by.

What a unique find. It looks like an old grandpa. Kinda reminds me of some of my body parts, even the a few of those holes. And a very relaxing video.

I love that stuff. That's when I'd want to figure out a way to turn it into a work of art. Way cool.

Old and ancient natural wood can be amazing.
Here's some driftwood I captured on the beach in Manistique. Maybe it's the skeleton of a moose or caribou? Or maybe a dragon?

Or the wish bone from a prehistoric bird known by the Troglodyti as Titanis Turkeyus.
