Marcy Bessolo Hermanson and friends recently hiked a part (almost 6 miles) of the Maasto Hiihto and Churning Rapids trails. She was surprised how much Fall beauty there still was all along in the woods. But the treat of the day was seeing 11 swans in the Swedetown River along the trail. Marcy says if you haven’t been out there, it’s a great walk. She’s looking forward to their next adventure there as there is so much more territory to cover for the next time around!

We have another “keeper” video from Steve Brimm. He takes us for a view of Autumn at the Manganese Falls and says it’s a nice place to cast a prayer!

I'm a sucker for tree and road pictures, and
if they're covered with leaves that's all
the better.

How gorgeous...Went to Marquette yesterday, they
have tons of color yet..but there were spots during
the ride that are empty leaves..There was gold in
the evergreens...almost everyone in MQT has a
burning bush in their yard....it's so pretty still.

AND, when we got back to Houghton, the Christmas
tree is lit up!

All beautiful and the swans are a nice added bonus. But i have to say i'm also very impressed by the boardwalk! Someone did a great job AND you don't have to walk single file. Thanks Steve for the great vid!

That's is a LOT of lumber in that boardwalk. Impressive. Maybe someone was hoping to use it with their 4x4?

Here are a pair of swans I watched last year in Donken Lake, right next to US-41, near Twin Lakes. The one on the left kept his right leg extended for long periods of time.
