Nancy Haun just can’t seem to sit still, she’s an explorer at heart and thank goodness she always has her camera handy to share her explorations with all of us. Today she starts us off in the Skanee area, at the spot where the Ravine River empties into Huron Bay. She said the color in Skanee has been just stunning! They say that a photo is worth a thousand words...this first shot says it all!
The next three photos from Nancy were taken at the Silver River Falls and Gorge, off the Skanee Road, about eight miles from L’Anse. The first of the trio was taken in the rain and Nancy felt the clouds and rain seemed to bring out the depth of color in the trees. I’d have to agee on that one. The next shot is a spot in the Silver River Gorge that you cannot get to in many years, since the water gets too high there. And the third photo is a spot on the Silver River Falls that is getting more difficult to capture due to the alder growth and dead trees falling on the river banks, making it hard to get to there, but Nancy says it’s still worth a try for a view of the falls like this. I think she’s right on that one!
To complete this adventure with Nancy, we have a video she recorded at the Silver River Gorge. It’s one of those that you have to have your volume turned UP, to hear the falls and Nancy’s explanation of where we are.

Wow, another day with beautiful shots of the changing leaves! We are so spoiled by Mary finding yet another spectacular set for us to enjoy. The first shot has just enough green to contrast with the brilliant colors. Really appreciated Nancy's play-by-play because we have been there and never knew "the rest of the story".
