We have a trio of photos from Nancy Haun today, who captured some of the color in the Baraga/L’Anse area. Nancy said she was coming down the Silver River Hill and saw a huge area of yellow-gold. She figured it was the aspens that have grown up over the years there. So she turned on the Aura Road and drove to the top, turned around to get the best vantage point of the view and snapped this first shot. She said it was stunning and just gorgeous. I totally agree!

Nancy’s next two pictures were taken from the Bishop Baraga Shrine viewing platform on Keweenaw Bay. These are looking toward the Baraga park and she commented that Baraga is coming alive with a perfect blend of color. And again, I couldn’t agree more!

The video Nancy recorded is from the almost 90° day we had a week or so ago and she said it’s been hard to get the right color in the right locations, but for her, it’s always awesome chasing the trains no matter the color. Nancy notes that the rock wall, at 3:04 in the video, is on the far side of the Canadian National, as it passes the Spurr River and is banded iron-hematite and or magnetite with Jasper.

Beautiful, Nancy. There's nothing like fall
colors. Thanks for sharing yours with us.

Another nice set! Thanks, Nancy.
I was eating breakfast while watching
the video and man, did I choo…choo.

LOL Alex...

these are stunners, and I will say, the most
spectacular red tree I've seen is in the Baraga
State Park.

The best way to enjoy Autumn Color is when the skies are clear. Bright light, especially during the golden hours of dawn and dusk is the best. Unfortunately, the clouds have been heavy for the past 10 days.

It appears to me the "Red" and some "Orange" are very bright this year but the "Yellow" seems to be quickly moving to brown and dropping.
