Talk about being in the right place, at the right time. That’s where Stacey Flood found herself this past week when the storm clouds came rolling in over the Copper Country. She did a great job capturing them at several spots along her way, but that first one is outstanding with those big rolling clouds looking like they’re just going to swallow up everything below. We did get quite a downpour, along with some thunder and lightning, which Stacey also captured a flash of while the sun was setting. It was quite the storm and thankfully one that didn’t do a lot of damage, although I did hear of a couple lightning strikes that did hit, but the damage wasn’t too bad, some electrical repairs, but nothing major that I’m aware of. There’s always some danger in storms like these, magnificent to watch the crackle of the lightning, but also a worry if it will cause outages or damage to people’s homes. Nature can be fierce and beautiful at the same time.
Today’s video is a short one, recorded by brockit, inc during the storm. Pay close attention to the sky on the right side of the video and you’ll see some of the lightning flashing. There’s no sound with this one and full screen viewing gives you a better look.

Hi The lightning at sunset photo is striking. I also like the second one, where it looks like the clouds are about to roll down the street.

I love the 2nd and 4th but all are wonderful! I love watching storms. I'm much more calm with summer storms UP here than in Minnesota where there are tornado warnings and watches all the time. As long as there's no damage, they're beautiful to watch.

Sweet set! Number for is a keeper. I hate it when spellcheck doesn’t work properly.
