When Nancy Haun first spotted today’s Pasty Cam critter in Skanee, all she saw was the white tail and her first thought was it’s a skunk. Then the squirrel revealed himself and she saw that white, bushy tail and was surprised to see it was a squirrel. She said it was busy getting all the seeds he could to rebury them for later. Nancy said she looked up squirrels with white tails and there were too many reasons for this color combination, so she just decided to leave it at that. I guess I’ll do the same and just call it an unusual and unique squirrel. We’ve seen our share of uniquely colored animals and birds lately and I enjoy when folks share them with us here on the Pasty Cam.

We join Visit Keweenaw with a description of the Keweenaw, where there’s always something new to discover along Lake Superior’s rugged shores. The calm of the forest and bliss of being at the Lake make the Keweenaw feel like home to so many. Get out and enjoy it!

There used to be a whole family of totally white
Squirrels in Dollar Bay....they were the most
beautiful creatures. I had black ones in Baraga,
and they mated with the grays, and we had brown
ones...Cool critters, but they make a mess.

We saw a totally white one at the Houghton
cemetery this past weekend. We tried to get
a picture but he was too quick. So pretty.

That white tail had better hide during deer hunting season.
Nice video, but it would be better without the music.

Cute pics, great video and I could hear both with
and without the music. Alex, I understand too my
friend, but at least the music was pleasant and
fitting to listen to.

Looking forward to getting to the Keweenaw,
hopefully in one piece, took a pretty bad fall on
6/3 tripping on some debris that I didn't see in
our local Costco parking lot. Long story short, I
was on the mend from a pretty banged up right
side, when cellulitis really flared up. Was in the
hospital 6/14-6/17, starting to feel that I may
have made the turn to recovery as of today. We
don't head to Mackinaw until 7/6, so I'm making
sure I do everything I can to put this behind me
by then. No truer words have ever been spoken...
"It's a bit*h gettin old" lol. Hope everyone else
is enjoying Summer, and Solstice is tomorrow Pasty
Fam!! Hang in there!

U.C., hope you heal better from now on. Oh,
and I always heard it as "getting old ain't
for sissies".

UC,
You had been so 'quiet' i was afraid something like this had happened! Glad your stay in the hospital was relatively (easy for me to say) short and that you are feeling better. Will be praying for a complete recovery soon!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 - 07:11 pm:

UC…glad to hear that you’re on the mend. I was in Troy-
Beaumont for a few days myself…gall stones. Just what I needed.
Now I’m waiting to pass kidney stones and someone told me it’s
like having a baby. ..can’t wait for that.

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 - 08:53 pm:

Jbuck, thanks for the prayers.

Sending some more your way too Alex, are you back
in Lk Orion?

Deb, You're right, that's how the saying goes, I
guess I was feeling a little Bit%hy lol.

I always thought it would be my meds that brought
me down being lightheaded and or dizzy.... NOPE.
I'm not a small guy and I went flying! Took one
man and 4 ladies to stand me up! lol Being on
blood thinners they wanted me to go by EMS, I just
crawled into my truck and drove to the ER, knew I
had to being on thinners, luckily I didn't hit my
head. Called Vic from the ER.... she say's... "Now
what did you do!" lol:=)) I'm pretty high
maintenance! lol

Sending prayers for both of you, Uncle Chuck and Alex. Glad to hear you're both out of the hospital and hopefully mending quickly. I've had a kidney stone, Alex...it is quite painful for sure. Hope yours pass quickly and they give your something for the pain. Hugs to you both!
