Everywhere you look this time of year, you’ll see blossoms blooming. Donna MacIntosh captured some beauties when she went on an outing with a friend. The crabapple trees were at the height of beauty with those colorful blossoms standing out against the blue sky like that. What a glorious sight! Then a stop at the Houghton Forest Hill Cemetery, with the Phlox in bloom, it’s hard to beat that scene. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this type of phlox is called Creeping Phlox. And lastly, that Lilac bush...oh my goodness, with all those lilacs blooming, I can only imagine the beautiful scents that are wafting through the air nearby. All this beauty here today is fleeting though and I always wish these blooms could last much longer.
Here’s another video that you need to turn UP the volume to hear the sounds of nature while you’re enjoying the bee buzzing around the blossoms. Fred Koski says, “Welcome Spring”!

These are outstanding pictures, Donna. I just love crabapple trees. I love those phlox all over the cemetery, too. Every time I go to visit my grandparent's graves, I wish I could dig some up and put them on their plot. Anybody know where I can find some. Ican't even find seeds. Not that I trust seeds on that plot. I'm planting irises and forget me nots out there because there really isn't any grass to speak of. So if you know where I can get some, please let me know.

Beautiful pics; I sooooo miss Lilacs!
Have some news: I have been invited to be a special speaker at the Detroit Gem & Mineral Show in October, talking about Michigan geology and promoting the book. They also want me to do a couple book signings while there so if anyone is in the area October 13-15, stop on by.

Nice to see pictures of the Lilacs and Crabapple blossoms. Our season of these was very short this year.

I forgot to mention (for all the local Yoopers out there) that I'll also be at the Houghton Gem & Mineral Show August 11-13 signing books as well, and Dr. Nat will be presenting two lectures on the geology of Michigan.
