Main Street Calumet hosts a Community Garden space in the 400 block of 5th Street and Kathy Erkkila Ptaszek stopped by recently to snap some shots of the plethora of colorful Tulips growing in the raised beds there. What a beautiful sight to see when walking or driving on 5th Street in downtown Calumet. The space is provided for residents to grow food, host agricultural and nutrition based learning events, socialize and activate the previously vacant space, according to their webpage. How fun that they start the growing season with these beautiful tulips. The 2023 season spaces are filled, but if you’re a resident and would like to get on the wait list for a bed to plant, you can do so here: Community Garden

Visit Keweenaw shares a video of the Tulip array, saying that Main Street Calumet is looking pretty vibrant! I’d have to agree!

If you’re still voting for Lake Superior as the Best Lake in all three categories, here are the links to do so.

Best Lake
Best Lake for Swimming
Best Lake for Water Sports.

Vote for the best lake in the U.S. once per day until polls close on Monday, June 5 at noon ET.

Beautiful! A labor of love.

Being a Scot, my mother had a passion for flowers and she kept her

shrubs and hedges manicured to perfection. I miss the old lass.

Reminded me of the Tulip Festival in Holland. As a kid I used to march in the parade there playing my sax in the band.

So beautiful. So much color. The deer ate
all of ours.

WOW, is that stunning! Had an appt today and got
to go for a spin...it is so beautiful out there
with all the lilacs, we went through a cemetery
(yeah, some of us like them~) and it was filled
with pink flox and we stopped under a tree, got
out, and it was filled with lily of the valley,
and periwinkle.
Just standing there...the perfume was absolutely
stunning! You didn't smell nothing (like
normal)...it was pure lily of the valley and just
so awesome!

(hi Lou!)
