When Jeff Dennis and family head out to their camp at Little Traverse, even in the winter they never know if they’ll have company or not. They recently had several four-legged and a couple two legged guests there, enjoying the solitude of a wintry beach. Some of those four-legged guests became a bit bold, wanting to see if Jeff and family were home and what they were doing if they were. Good thing they didn’t get caught, they may have had to do some time in the “pen” for being a “peeping doe”. Jeff mentioned that they often turn the cameras toward the camp when they go inside, so they can watch the deer, but they had to leave unexpectedly and didn’t get to move them back toward Lake Superior, so they were left facing the camp for a day or two.

Jeff’s video shows the beach with some winter wave action on the Big Lake a few weeks earlier. Seems strange to see sandy beach in February here in the Keweenaw.

This is spectacular! Oh wow...I had this view, but
not that beautiful lake...but I fed critters and I
miss them. This is beyond cool.

Jeff-do you notice the difference between when the
turkeys and the deer eat? That happened when I fed
them, the Tom would monitor and stay between the
deer and the hens....and NO one came across that
line till his girls were done. Once they all left,
THEN the deer were allowed. AND, if a buck came
in...wow...the deer that would be eating would
BACK UP slowly...almost like greeting the King!!!
When it was does or fawns...all was open...but the
big boy came in, and everything was his!
