Frances Czapski says when the day or two of abundant sunshine finally arrives in the midst of many shades of gray, she shoots hard, because she knows these images bursting with light will carry her (and the rest of us) through the next stretch of gray. Her first shot here today is something else with the sun shining through the edge of the ice like that!
The next two photos she captured at the Lower Tahquamenon Falls. The first one of the two is on the edge of the riverbank...just look at the powerful water rushing by. Then the second of the two with ice under the Tahquamenon River is so interesting that it can freeze like that under constantly moving water. Puzzles me how the ice formed underneath that rushing water.
Frances made today’s video on a sunny, snowy adventure to the Lower Tahquamenon Falls. She said it was a little cold, about 10 degrees when she was trekking around, but the sun felt so good after many days of gray. I know that feeling, too! Interesting color shades of winter. And wouldn’t it be cool to take a
refreshing to take a shower under those falls?
Many thanks to Fran.

These photos are spectacular! I can't say
enough about them. And I sure loved hearing
that running water.
