Kathy Erkkila Ptaszek mentioned that the Covered Road is one of her favorite places in any season and until she said that, I didn’t realize that it’s one of my favorite places, too. It always seems a bit magical when you drive down the tunnel like road towards Freda, no matter if it’s covered by green leaves, brightly colored leaves, no leaves or snow-laden branches overhead, it’s always beautiful.

We received enough snow last week to close schools or have delayed starts across the U.P., so today’s video from Visit Keweenaw will give you an idea of how a snow day is spent when there’s no school. definitely one of my favorite places UP
here. It's gorgeous no matter the season.
Well, maybe I wouldn't like it during the
spring months. Anyway, I totally enjoyed
the pictures. Thank you for them.

We haven't seen much of that blue stuff either, but i know it isn't clouds!!

I don't know. Without the very wonderful leaf foliage, the Covered Road is just way less impressive.

It's very well groomed though and it is great to have the rare opportunity to see it in all it's winter wonder.

Back when I still could drive, I bought a new broom
for the kitchen and put the old one in my car. That
was my snow brush....and let me tell you...people
were jealous when they saw me brushing my car~
LOLOL....that worked so awesome!~

OK...totally off topic, but I gotta ask...

Has anyone tried peanut butter on a bacon-burger?
I've heard AND read it's supposed to be phenomenal.
I have not tried it, but I really want to...

Not me Donna but I'll try anything once, twice if I
like it.lol I have heard of it tho. That little
Burger place drive thru as your coming from Houghton
and just into Lake Linden, I'll bet they'd make a
great one, I love their burgers and it's a must stop
for me!! I know Mary & Deb knows the name of the
place, they also serve Ice Cream too.

Now I want a burger & fries & DC!! :=))

How about a mayonnaise and potato chip sandwich?


Take two slices of bread and put mayonnaise onto both slices, take

a generous amount of potato chips and smash it down. Works with

Doritos too.

Mayonnaise on all 4 sides of bread.
Then grill in non-stick fry pan.

Maybe insert a slice of favorite cheese (provolone)

Alex, that sounds awesome too...I've put chips on
sandwiches with other stuff, but not alone. That
does sound good!

It's the Depot. And their burgers are so
good and huge. We usually go for ice cream
cones. But occasionally we want their
burgers and fries. And I've never had peanut
butter on my burgers.
