It looks like Laurie Bashaw won’t have to buy a turkey for Thanksgiving this year, as they have a large raft of wild ones visiting their backyard every day. Throw in a couple deer, too and they could stock their freezer when hunting season starts. She said there were 45 turkeys on Sunday, but Laurie and her hubby were working out in the yard and the turkeys didn’t seem to like them there. Then on Monday, not a one showed up, so she told her hubby that those turkeys must be mad at them for being in the yard the day before. They may have missed their opportunity for a free turkey after all.

Laurie made a video of the turkeys a few weeks earlier, you can still see some of the snow they had received around that time, still in their yard. There’s even a chickadee on her bird feeder in the video.

That's a lot of turkeys. We don't get them
here. We used to get them all the time when
we lived in Minnesota. Now we have the deer
every day, which I prefer anyway. But
they're lucky and get them both. Cool

Thanks Mary, and all who commented. The turkeys came back his morning!! Yay!! I did try my husband’s turkey call the other day, but I think they just laughed at me! We had a few deer during the day today. The other night, there were 9 does! No bucks, no tom turkeys! Hmmm !

Hmm is right. So maybe the female is the
smarter of all species?
