When Nancy Haun looked to the sky and saw the dark clouds, she knew it was time to “batten down the hatches”, because a storm was brewing. But before doing so she had to snap a few photos since those clouds were really making the colors in the trees stand out. These are some moody pictures that you can almost feel the tension from the stormy looking sky. This must be what is meant when people say a picture is worth a thousand words.
We’re also treated to a video from Nancy at the Slate River in the L’Anse/Skanee area, with a look at where the Iron Range and Huron Bay Railroad grade is, too.

Hi The contrast of the dark skies and bright leaves really feels like fall. We were up at our cabin near Cheboygan this weekend, and had a mixture of clouds, sun and rain.

What gorgeous shots. I love the bright trees against the dark sky. It was beautiful! And the serenity that watching that river gave me was wonderful. There's a new place for me to put on that bucket list. Thanks for sharing.

I love Nancy’s quotes: “Boy, this is almost to pretty to leave, isn’t it.” and “Wow”. I must concur with both and thanks for the outing, Nancy.
