“I’m sorry, but I can’t help myself! So much beauty! It’s breathtaking.” That’s how Kathy Erkkila Ptaszek prefaced her photos here today. And I’m sure I speak for most folks in saying there’s nothing to be sorry about, since the fall colors in the Keweenaw last for such a short time, you can never tire of seeing that glorious beauty.
The comments from some of Kathy’s friends sum up the appeal, the fascination, the attraction that fall UP North has for many people.
“It’s hard not to take pictures. The color is vibrant.”
These pictures “are balm to my UP thirsty soul!”
“It’s the UP! The world needs more...”
“I was thinking - I have been to the Louvre – but the fall colors move my heart even more than famous masterpieces.”
I’ll finish it up here with Kathy’s response when a friend said her photos were absolutely gorgeous, but we know what’s coming. She replied that winter is “inevitable, but don’t let that diminish one second of enjoyment of fall’s glory.” Great advice, Kathy!
Today’s video is a longer one at just over sixteen minutes, but I encourage you to take the time to watch it, you won’t be sorry. Photographer,
