Nancy Haun has been busy catching Canadian National trains on camera lately. Her first shot is the CN 5400 crossing the bridge over the Falls River. Neat perspective looking up at the train like that. Nancy said she was standing in the middle of the river on some slate and when she turned around, the falls in the second photo was right behind her. Such a pretty spot...I’m glad she turned around.

Her third shot is CN 5410 just as it’s coming into Herman. Nancy always seems to be in just the right spot for a great shot. The colorful train, the clouds in the sky and an old building not to far from the tracks, perfect setting.

That’s the Spurr River in photo number four, with the Canadian National going by. So cool with the reflection of the train in the river, two trains for the price of one you might say.

I added Nancy’s last photo here, even though it wasn’t in sync with the train shots. The fog surrounding the Bishop Baraga Shrine made for such a different look, I just couldn’t resist including it in today’s set. Eerie with the shroud of fog and Keweenaw Bay hidden from view.

Nancy’s video today has double the pleasure all in the same video. She starts out with a view from mile post 201 in Nestoria with the train whistle signaling it will be there shortly. Then she heads over to the Spurr River to catch the train as it goes by. It’s a little over 11 minutes, but Nancy’s story about the Spurr River tracks derailment in the 1930’s is worth the watch.

I love these pictures, Nancy. I wasn't going
to watch the video cuz it's longer and I was
doing stuff that needed to be done, but
couldn't resist.

Thanks for always sharing your adventures
with us.
