Beth Jukuri and her paddling pals sure know how to live. They recently spent an evening unwinding on the Portage Canal in their kayaks, checking out a few things along the way. Going under the bridge is always an interesting perspective, especially when you’re in a slower moving craft like a kayak so you can really get a good look at the things from below. Same for paddling alongside the Ranger III, it gives you a good idea of the size difference when you’re right next to it in the water. Then the ladies encountered a few sailing vessels. I like the way the white sails reflected in the water in the fourth shot. And finally, heading back under the Portage Lake Lift Bridge the ladies wrap up a beautiful evening together.


Nick and Andy from MI Playground take us to Isle Royale today canoeing Tobin Harbor, a hike on the Lookout Louise trail, seeing their first moose, and a trip to the remote Passage Island Lighthouse. Enjoy the adventure!

much fun. We've got kayaks but I'm just not
sure enough of myself. We didn't get to go
out at all this summer. So hopefully next
summer. Pictures like these really make me
want to get out there. So, thanks for
sharing your great adventure with us

one if I agreed to wait... ahhh no, too many miles
to go when we were on our way back downstate. lol
