When Beth Jukuri heads out for a bike ride, she often rides the trail from Chassell to Houghton and just like when she was a rural mail delivery person, she always encountered interesting critters along the way, she still does so now, only from her bike. She said this little spotted fawn was on the road near her house and it seemed just as curious about Beth on those wheels, as Beth was about the fawn. I’m sure its mother wasn’t too far out of sight, either, but she must have been comfortable with Beth snapping a few pictures.

A video, too of that beautiful little creature. I’m amazed that the fawn didn’t run off before Beth could record a bit of it. The fawn must have sensed that there was no danger from the human on wheels.

I absolutely love these creatures. They are
so gorgeous. We have 2 of them coming to our
yard most days. They aren't afraid either.
They both let me come outside to snap
pictures and don't even run when I talk to
them. One is just beginning to bring her two
fawns with her. The other is a little
smaller so I'm thinking she was last year's
baby. Either way, I love when they come to
the yard. They used to only come early
morning or early evening. Now, you never
know when they'll be there.
