My guess is when you see these country road posts, you know right away that Beth Jukuri was behind the camera, snapping away. Plenty of folks drive country roads, but not everyone notices their surroundings like Beth does. She often says that looking for critters and different scenes, makes the monotony of driving the same route every day, much better. She recently snapped this field of sheep, not a critter that’s as common around the Keweenaw, so it’s neat to spot a small flock of them. The next critter is all by itself, no flock or herd. I’m not sure what breed of horse it is, but the coloring catches my eye. Nice, classic looking equine.
Beth also found an apple tree loaded with apples. When there are many apples on the branches, they start bowing down like this photo shows, but that makes the apples easier to pick for making pies, applesauce and crumble. Yum!
The last photo has a number of pumpkins peeking out of the field. Maybe they’re hoping to be picked for a jack-o-lantern or perhaps a pumpkin pie. By the number of pumpkins already turned orange, it must have been a good crop this year.
We’re going on a Keweenaw Point Tour, courtesy of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, with Kristin Ojaniemi and the Keweenaw ATV Club members showing her the beauty of the local trails and how the club is trying to preserve them for public use.

Those apples look awesome. My hubby has been wanting to pick apples for apple jelly (and maybe an apple pie or two). So much to do with so little time. That's why we have pasty.com for catching what we're missing.
Informative yet disconcerting video that brings to mind a song lyric (Eagles: The Last Resort): "They call it paradise I don't know why, You call someplace paradise Kiss it goodbye."

Great video. Small faux pas when she called Bare Bluff, Mt. Baldy.
I see too many no-profit organization formed in the U.P. (and probably elsewhere) for the purpose of buying up parcels of land supposedly for nature conservancy when some of them are to get a tax break to use it for mostly personal purposes.
