There’s a tried and true saying that goes, ‘what a difference a day makes’ and that’s also the title of an old song sung by Dinah Washington. The first verse goes like this: What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours, Brought the sun and the flowers, Where there used to be rain….
Today’s photos snapped by Barbara Bouwkamp illustrate those lyrics, but in reverse. Her Friday photos show the sun and beautiful morning colors. Then the Saturday set of pics are foggy and wavier, so different from one morning to the next in just 24 hours. That type of weather switch-a-roo is typical for the Keweenaw, though, the weather can change from good to bad in a short time or bad to good just the same. While I love the photos of the colorful sunrise, I also enjoy the foggy morning for the way it can slow you down, since you can’t rush off to enjoy the day until the sun cuts through the fog. Different, indeed.
We end the week with 20 seconds of solitude from Steve Brimm, the man behind the artwork at Steve Brimm Photography. Once again, make sure your speakers are turned up so you can hear the birds and the water rippling.

Nice pics & video! This last trip up we spent
some time at Big Traverse one afternoon, what a
beautiful beach. I didn't realize how nice it was
or how close it was to Gay where we were camping.
D.A. On the way up, we camped a couple of nights
at the campground in Grand Marais, beautiful spot
I might add. Neither Vic or myself recall seeing
the Pickle Barrel House, hmmmm. I recommend
visiting and camping in Grand Marais. Also, if
you're headed to the Keweenaw from there, be sure
to take H58 into Munising, it's a fantastic
beautiful ride!! It took us a little longer
pulling the 5th wheel but it was worth it!!
