Another new photographer today, Chris Hendra, from Chris Hendra Photography. He specializes in wildlife photography, but recently captured the Isle Royale Seaplane as it was coming in for a landing from one of its Island flights. It’s pretty neat how he stopped the plane in mid-air, with everything in the background a blur of motion. His second shot shows the seaplane taking off from the Portage Canal, on another flight to bring folks to the Island for an experience hiking and camping that they will never forget. No matter how you get to Isle Royale, either by plane or by boat, it’s a wilderness experience in the middle of Lake Superior, at the least visited, but most revisited National Park in the contiguous United States.

Today’s video is a view of the Seaplane taking off from Windigo Harbor on the Island. There’s a point that the camera angle makes it look like the plane levitates as it leaves the water. A camera illusion of sorts.

Thanks Chris! Welcome!
Can see the advantages of taking the plane out but not sure how it would feel to land on the water! And is the Ranger an option to get back if the water is too choppy to take off? It's all a moot point for us either way!
