Thanks to E. Neil Harri, we get to see the Mackinac Bridge today, in it’s entirety, from St. Ignace to Mackinaw City. Looking at it from overhead like this you can see how long it really is. That five mile span across Lakes Huron and Michigan is an amazing piece of engineering for sure.
Neil’s second photo gives us a look at Mackinac Island, full view. If you’re familiar with the Island, you can pick out the main street, Mission Point, the Grand Hotel and even the airport landing strip. It’s a wonderful place to visit and step back into a time when there were no cars, just horse drawn taxi’s and bicycles to get to where you want to go on the Island. M-185 around the outside perimeter of Mackinac Island is 8.3 miles and is a fun ride on a bicycle, with a number of interesting stops along the way.
Our video today is courtesy of MDOT photographer Tim Burke. He assisted a Japanese production company shooting a documentary about one of the Mackinac Bridge Authority's steeplejacks. MDOT shared it so everyone could enjoy the view!

Hi Great views. When I drive across the bridge, I am looking out and down, at the islands and for any ships passing. It makes me wonder if all the time there were men at work over my head.
Instead of the music, I'd rather have had some commentary about what the men were doing. In English, not Japanese.

Re video, "Mackinac Bridge Drone Footage": 1. It looks like they were having a convention at the top of that tower at 0:48-1:08! 2. How much do ya 'spose they have to pay those steeplejacks?

Every time I see aerial views from higher than a few hundred feet, I just know they're from E. Neil Harri and not from a drone. Thank you.
