These photos snapped by George C. Bailey, along with the comments he made about them, made me go in search of the song he was referring to, with his title: “I’ve seen life from both sides of the clouds now.” Written by Joni Mitchell and first recorded by Joan Collins, Both Sides Now. If you want to listen to it, click here: Judy Collins, Both Sides Now.
Back to George’s captures. These photos are mesmerizing...I’m not quite sure if it’s the unique angle George shot them at, or that the clouds are completely filling the sky, yet still wispy and thin-like. Whatever it is, it’s magical and quite beautiful. Another of the reasons that I’m glad to be a Yooper, the changing scenes all over the U.P. are a blessing to see each day.
We get to view another waterfall today, this one from E. Neil Harri last week at Manganese Falls in Copper Harbor. The Spring falls are something to see, since summertime there is much less water flowing and not quite so loud or impressive. Again, check your speaker volume if you want to hear the water roaring.
