We have a new Pasty Camist joining us today, Josh Rheault. He shares photos today, from the shores of Lake Superior: the eastern shore near Gay; between Copper and Eagle Harbor; a splash in the sunset at Calumet Waterworks and lastly, the streets of Lake Linden being snowblowed in the early morning. If Josh’s photos look real wintry, that’s because they are, with a week of non-stop weather advisories/warnings, day after day, it has felt like we’re in the movie, Groundhog Day, with the weather repeating itself every day. I hear that the temperatures may warm up to around 30° by the end of the week, so there is light at the end of the snow/cold tunnel.

Speaking of snowblowing the streets, Janine Laurinaho Beveridge captured the Calumet Village crew snowblowing the piles of snow on their streets recently. It’s like an orchestrated dance between the Snogo and the dump truck!

Interesting set. Hoping everyone is safe and warm
in TX, I heard it may reach 70 degrees next week.

Cool pics, hard to pick a favorite! Great video
also, snow removal in the Yoop is second to none
for sure!!

We got dumped on here in S.E. MI last night, but
it is February, lol.

D.A. second shot, good luck, I've heard that's
when you feel some symptoms for about 24 hours. I
get my second shot on Friday. Looking forward to
it, but with what I've learned in healthcare
sales the last 30+ years, I'll still be wearing
my mask for a long time to come and still
avoiding public places when I can. We'll be doing
carry outs and showing our support that way, but
no movie theaters, arenas etc...
That being said, I did order more pasties and
trenary toast from Pasty.com. Also ordered my TB
jam, from the "Jam Lady" in Mohawk so I'm good to
go for a while. Still looking to get the
steelbelts hummin over the Mighty Mac and back
into God's Country, but with the Pandemic...
going to have wait a bit longer, oh well... it is
what it is. Hopefully we'll be able to spend a
couple of months in the Keweenaw this Summer!!

It's fun to watch the snow removal from the UP.
It's hard for people to understand their system of
removal. It's amazing to me how well they do it
and with such ease(at least they make it look
easy). We sure could a lot of help in Illinois.
We are just north of Chicago and the lake effect
is brutal.

When you think of the folks with no help...holy
wha. I lived on the main drag of Lake Linden a few
times. You couldn't get a teaspoon of snow off the
road when they got done!! That was a long time
ago...I'd imagine it's a whole new crew!!

But I still imagine it's like that!!
