It’s been a number of years since I’ve seen the Northern Lights in person, so I’m always excited when someone shares photos of them, like George C. Bailey did of the early February display of the Aurora Borealis. These photos were of course taken from George’s home base in the Keweenaw Peninsula over looking Lake Superior in Eagle Harbor Township, west of Copper Harbor.
No matter how many times you’ve seen the Auroras, it’s still a mesmerizing lighting of the sky before you and something you’ll never forget. George does a fantastic job capturing it all in his photos, but the bottom shot is my favorite. Can you find George in it?
Next we join Fantasy Film for some snowy fun in the Upper Peninsula, including a winter hike to the Tahquamenon Falls and Eben Ice Caves.

How great would it be to see this in person? Amazing how the colors are so vivid and change over time. Thanks George!!

Oh, and is that George's shadow or George himself?

I remember, as a child, my dad showing us the "lights" when we would visit our grandparents and that was during the summer! It's hard to explain to anyone what it looks like. The sight is spectacular!! Love the pictures! Thanks for sharing the beauty of the skies.
