White City is out near Jacobsville and in the summer it has one of the best beaches and shorelines for swimming. Nancy Crouch was out there this past weekend and said that they had the place completely to themselves. You can tell from the photos, that it was a beautiful day out there, highly unusual for a day this in late fall, so Nancy and her hubby soaked up all the sunshine they could. Just look how calm Lake Superior its, too, a great indicator that there was no wind, too.
The lake freighter Manitowoc passed by the Keweenaw Waterway Lower Entrance Light, on its way to deliver a load of salt in Hancock, MI. Nathan Miller watched from the lighthouse with multiple cameras set up to catch the action.

Very nice near-winter visit to the beach although I'm guessing not much sunscreen was needed that day.
Cool closeup "drive-by" of the Manitowoc.

HOW did he get in the lighthouse? It's been decades since I've been there and there was NO way to get inside! Is the door gone now????

Donna,
My guess is he knew someone responsible for providing periodic maintenance and oversight, typically the local Coast Guard. He probably tagged along during a visit. I'm sure the facility is still secure.

The lighthouse is now privately owned and the gentleman who.made the video is the president of the group. Read more about it here: Lower Entry Lighthouse ownership
