Have you seen any Evening Grosbeaks at your birdfeeders lately? If not, Jacky Monette says that’s because they’re all in Traprock Valley. She counted 62 of them at one sitting the other day. Jacky jokes that she may have to get a second job to buy birdseed this winter, because they can really eat!
Check out Jacky’s daughter’s kitty, Elsa... she sure is keeping an eye on this invasion of her deck. I bet she’d love to get outside and try to catch a few of them. Good thing it’s too cold lately to have the windows open, or Elsa would be out there in a flash.
