The cemetery isn’t most people’s favorite place to visit, but Brita Haapala, from Brita Caroline Photography gives us a reason to enjoy the Lakeview Cemetery with her photo looking like this is the road that leads to the heavens. Just beautiful!

The rest of the pictures were snapped by Gladys Collins there at Lakeview Cemetery, where she found the most interesting tree with so many “burls”, it looks like a tree critter. It also looks like it may be dead. I hope if it’s cut down, that they leave the base with all the burls and knots. The last photo is Gladys’ granddaughter on the tree. She gives a great perspective on how big that thing is.

We’re adventuring with the Dennis family again today. This time UP in the Keweenaw at the old Calumet Radar Base. Jeff Dennis adds a note of warning about this location: “Warning: This is dangerous property and trespassers may be prosecuted. Base includes many abandoned buildings and a ghost town. The Calumet Air Force Station, a hidden gem in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan, is located on top of Mount Horace Greeley, in Keweenaw County, near another nearly ghost mining town of Phoenix.”

Watching Jeff’s video is the next best thing to being there and so much better than getting prosecuted for trespassing on posted property.

Nice set! That full-figured knotty tree looks a little naughty.

I was thinking the same thing Alex! It appears to be deceased; glad they have left it there for our amusement!

Interesting tour! Seems like such a waste........ reminds me of White Pine a few years back.

Does Pasty Cam still have some equipment up there?
